ʻIolani Palace

Let us stand together in peaceful solidarity.

ʻIolani Palace

We gather at ʻIolani Palace
Royal inhabitants:
We also gather here
Who serve them.
We whose names are flowers
We whose names mean blood
We whose names hold premonitions
We whose names summon fire
We liverymen, wheelrights, tradesmen
Masons, stonecutters, gardeners
Drapers, ironworkers, welders
We groomsmen
We dancers at court
We guardsmen
We practitioners of arts
We brocaded ones
We clothed in rags
We who tend the corpses
We who secret their bones
We who lie here
Hold our entreaties
We lift our torches
At the gates.
